The first thing we did was go through the brief as a team, to highlight points that are important and could help us to come up with ideas. We used big sheets of paper to help get our ideas down. Using what we had learnt from one of the speakers (Abraham) we each individually wrote down on a post-stick the values that LAU has.
We then shared what we had wrote and from that wrote down the most important values which need to be embodied within the design.
Using the values we then again individually on post-stick notes wrote down ideas for the campaign, this proved to be quite challenging having done no prior research.
After this we should have wrote down on a big bit of paper completely different ideas, however we made the mistake of sharing what we had wrote on the post-stick note. The problem here was that when writing new ideas down on the big sheet of paper, there weren't really any 'new' ideas. We passed the papers round to add on to each others ideas but it became apparent the ideas were all very similar.
It was good to go over the brief as a team and get some initial ideas flowing, but we all felt that individual research / idea generation was needed to bring variation into what we have already discussed.
General themes:
- Growth - as a university, community and how LAU nurtures individuals to grow.
- Links - network, connections, community, collaborations.
