Juan Carlos Pagan and Brian Gartside, two New York City-based graphic designers created a typographic poster series for Bill Bernbach Diversity Scholarship. To emphasise the idea of “Diversity Makes Everything More Interesting” they used a different technique of layering typography for every single poster.
I think that this is a really engaging project with a strong concept that is well thought out. The technique of layering different typography directly relates to the theme of diversity which produces a more succinct design. It works particularly well as the different colours are bright, bold and engaging. Separating the type out so that the full word is only visible when placed together helps to create more intrigue and engagement.
