Organisations / Charities:
Institute of Race Relations
'The Institute of Race Relations (IRR) was established as an independent educational charity in 1958 to carry out research, publish and collect resources on race relations throughout the world. In 1972, the IRR’s membership backed the staff in a radical transformation of the organisation from a policy-oriented, establishment, academic institution into an anti-racist ‘thinktank’. The IRR began to concentrate on responding to the needs of Black people and making direct analyses of institutionalised racism in Britain and the rest of Europe. Today, the IRR is at the cutting edge of the research and analysis that inform the struggle for racial justice in Britain, Europe and internationally. It seeks to reflect the experiences of those who suffer racial oppression and draws its perspectives from the most vulnerable in society.'

Stand Against Racism & Inequality
'SARI is a service user/community-oriented agency that provides support and advice to victims of hate, and promotes equality and good relations between people with protected characteristics as defined by law. SARI employs a total of around 25 staff; our single largest activity is casework. In design, this service primarily supports victims of hate crime, but also works with children, young people and schools, providing support to pupils facing racist and other hate incidents in and around schools. We also deliver anti-hate based behaviour and cultural awareness sessions to pupils and school staff. Our work also extends to perpetrators and young offenders.'

Stop Hate UK
'Stop Hate UK works alongside local strategic partnerships to tackle Hate Crime and discrimination, encourage reporting and support the individuals and communities it affects. We provide a toolkit to help improve local responses to Hate Crime and an alternative for people who do not wish to report Hate Crime to the police or other statutory agencies. Our helplines enable people to access independent support and information, 24 hours a day, every day of the year.'

Stand Up To Racism
'A racist offensive is sweeping Europe, with governments and the right-wing media using migrants, refugees and Muslims as scapegoats for an economic crisis and wars they did not create.
The racist tide will only be driven back by anti- racists standing up and confronting it. From Germany to Greece to the USA, people who want a society free from racism are saying no more. People are taking to the streets in large numbers to oppose racism, Islamophobia, anti-Semitism and to say migrants and refugees are welcome here.
On 19th March 2016 over 20,000 people from across Britain took to the streets in London, Glasgow and Cardiff to say Refugees are Welcome Here and mark UN anti-racism day. Students and trade unionists, people of all faiths and none, migrants, musicians, teachers, pensioners and parents, took to the streets to make a defiant stand against racism.
Together we showed unity in the face of racism. We will be back next year for another huge demonstration against all forms of racism. Unity is our strength so we cannot let racism divide us.
We are the majority and we will stand up to racism.'
