We had lot's of ideas about all the different things that we could produce, we didn't want to limit ourselves initially. I really enjoyed this process and I felt that I managed to give lot's of different ideas.
A visual layout out mocked up from the information we were given, so it may not actually be very accurate.
We had 6 different themes to work with:
-Security features
-60's Pop art
-Currency symbols
-30's business
-UV
-Monopoly
We used them as a base point to decide which theme we were going to stick with. To decide we each went away and created a mood board for each of the themes. I created one for the currency symbol theme.
In the end we decided to go with a 60's pop art theme. I had found Andy Warhols dollar signs which had inspired us, and it related well because the building was built in the 60's. We also believed that because of the diverse range of work being produced the bright colours would work cohesively to show this diversity in design and use of colour. It would also be engaging and visually interesting but a risk as our idea is quite out there, they will either love it or hate it. The theme will be combined with some other aspects that we looked at, such as the currency symbols.
One of the big considerations in our group was how we could best utilise the space, as it is such a large room. Transforming the space using things such as projectors, desk and computers. We wanted to work with the space being an office rather than try to hide that fact.
We also discussed how the identity we create needs to be consistent throughout so that the brand is clear and sustained across all platforms. We had initial ideas of producing invitations, posters, feedback wall, social media platforms, displays etc.
We set up a facebook group chat so that over easter we would be able to stay in contact and share ideas clearly. We decided that when we meet back up we should all bring some intial sketched up ideas.
